Tell Alameda City Officials: Don't Tamper with the Bike Lanes!

When the new bicycle lanes opened up on Shoreline Drive, it was a idea long in the making: the first plans for the project show up in city documents dating back to 1974.

Cyclists no longer have to worry about running into pedestrians. Pedestrians no longer have to worry about said cyclists. Everyone now has a place to travel along the beautiful shoreline without worry. And the people rejoice.

Well, most of the people, anyway. A small but vocal minority has inundated City Hall with complaints about the lane, and has even proposed demolishing the lanes altogether.

It's time to let Alameda decision-makers know just where we stand on the bike lanes - before they make any changes to our beloved bike lanes. Take action today and tell them: #savethelanes!
