Mayor that allowed Parks Director to keep his job after he allowed shelter animals to be used in dog fights, needs to resign.

I signed a petition earlier on care to cause to request the city of Whiting, Indiana not allow a convicted animal abuser to keep his job as parks director, which included the animal shelter. The mayor made the decision to let the parks director keep his job, even after he had been found guilty of animal abuse, including allowing shelter animals to be used in dog fights. The mayor said “Not everyone will agree with that decision, but no one knows how much this man cares about that shelter more than I do,” Mayor Joseph Stahura said. He then minimized these outrageous crimes and said "he made one stupid mistake.” After public outcry, the director was removed from his position. However, the mayor that minimized these acts is still there. I believe that anyone that that believes that using vulnerable shelter pets for dog fights is a simple "one stupid mistake" clearly does not understand the gravity of the situation and should not be entrusted with the welfare of a city. I am asking the mayor to resign. Will you join me?
