SAVE HORSES FROM BARN FIRES !!!

Hundreds of horses are killed every year due to a number of barn fires. We need help to create a law which would force barn owners to install sprinkler systems. So that in the event of a fire, horses would have a chance of survival. At the current moment, there is never any hope for escape.
Dear Senator Mikulski,

Recently, in Fair Hill, Maryland, a barn fire broke out in Fair Hill Stables, leaving thirty one horses dead. This is, of course, not the only occurrence.

-September 4 - 11 horses killed in FL
-October 5 - 33 horses killed in Chicago, IL
-October 16 - 5 horses killed in Hartwood, VA
-October 26 - 10 horses killed in Clifton, VA
-November 3 - 31 horses killed in Fair Hill, MD

Due to the rising amount of barn fires that have been brought to the media's attention, the signers of this petition would like to see sprinkler systems installed in every barn beginning with Maryland, and hopefully across the nation. Without a proper method of extinguishing fires, barns burn quickly, due to massive amounts of hay and straw. The results are always utterly devastating. Irreplaceable lives and valuable property is lost, costing owners much more money than it would to install a functioning sprinkler system.

Please help put an end to the suffering of innocent animals.

Thank you for your time and efforts.

Sincerely,
The Undersigned
