Defend UK workers' rights, the environment and animals - by leaving the EU

I believe that the EU is a capitalist organisation with the primary purpose of facilitating trade agreements between big businesses in Europe.

For the UK, being in the EU is bad for workers, bad for the environment and bad for animals:

1. TTIP is just the latest secret trade deal negotiated by the EU. Like those that have gone before it institutionalises privatisation, including of health services.
2. EU laws forbid nationalisation (or even state subsidies to companies!) e.g. of the railways or energy companies.
3. The EU puts business before the environment and your health - The EU are considering renewing a 15 year licence for companies to sell bee-killing herbicide glyphosphate.
4. The EU makes sweeping decisions that are bad for animals - The EU have passed legislation forcing member states to cull non-native species even when ineffective and cruel.
5. EU treaties have systematically undermined workers' rights. It promotes zero-hour contracts, low pay and 'flexible' working as part of its structural adjustment programme.
6. The EU demands permanent austerity from all EU governments. They include strict rules limiting public spending and government borrowing.

If the UK stays in the EU, any left-wing policies a future Government attempt to implement will be met with huge challenges from the Capitalist run EU leadership.

I'm voting to leave the EU. Will you join me? Sign now to pledge that you will vote to leave the EU in the upcoming referendum - remember to get out and vote on 23 June 2016.

1. This puts the NHS at risk and harder to protect or return to its former glory.
3. This chemical is classed as a 'probable carcinogen' by the World Health Organisation. The vote which the EC wanted has been postponed pending further evidence.
4.  This means animals like the grey squirrel in the UK will be culled in unnecessary, ineffective and cruel culls. They're also on the brink of making a trade deal with Japan - a country which illegally kills whales.
5. EU treaties also drive forward privatisation - including of postal services and transport services. The posted workers' directive, for example, does not recognise collective agreements between workers and employers and 'in a race to the bottom' allows businesses to employ workers' on worse pay and conditions than the minimum for the industry concerned in that particular country.
6. Via the Troika - a decision group formed by the European Commission (EC), the European Central Bank (ECB) and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) - When the Greek people voted in a left-wing Government, the Troika forced them to implement austerity - cutting pensions and privatising energy services - against the Government's own policies - in a totally undemocratic process.
