Tell Your Senators to Help Save Women's Lives

As we saw in the recent rampage in Santa Barbara, and far too many times before, women are too often the target of gun violence. Driven by misogyny and enabled by lax or non-existent gun laws, gunmen like the shooter near Santa Barbara channel their rage into shooting women.

In fact, the majority of mass shootings in this country are domestic violence incidents.

But there's now important legislation in the Senate that will strengthen our nation's domestic violence laws and help save women's lives. The Protecting Domestic Violence and and Stalking Victims Act would prohibit stalkers and all domestic abusers — spouses and dating partners — from buying guns.

Send a message to your senators urging them to co-sponsor S. 1290. Just enter your information in the form on the right.
To whom it may concern:

I'm writing as a constituent to urge you to co-sponsor S. 1290, Sen. Amy Klobuchar's bill that would close loopholes in federal law that permit domestic abusers and stalkers to get their hands on guns.

This is an urgently needed piece of legislation that will save women's lives. Most mass shootings in this country are in fact domestic violence incidents.

We need to do more to stop gun violence against women. I hope I can count on your support for this bill.
