Oust GMA

This petition seeks to gather as many signatures of the growing number of Filipino women and their families who seek the removal of a fake President, Mrs. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, who has denied us the truth and has robbed us of our rights. We are enjoining your support for the dissemination of the said statement and the gathering of the signatures.

We, women and our families, affix our signatures to call on Mrs. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo to step down from the presidency.

We were witness to the suppression of the truth in the derailed impeachment proceedings in Congress. This continues as gag orders for government officials were issued, and policies meant to curtail civil liberties and legitimate responses to government policies are imposed.

     We cannot let these continue.

We cannot continue to suffer unprecedented poverty brought about by the Value Added Tax, unemployment, increases in the prices of oil and basic commodities and the deprivation of basic services.

We refuse to allow our children to inherit a government that tolerates fraud and corruption,  a leadership that breeds poverty, violence and injustice. GMA is a shame to our nation and a shame to all women who once rejoiced in having a second women president.

We need a government that can freeze or bring down prices of commodities and utilities; provide gainful employment and decent wages; housing, education, health and other social services that are either free, affordable, or accessible.

We need a government that respects the civil and political rights of the people, in our exercise of our right to vote, to peaceably assemble, to seek redress of our grievances, and other democratic rights.

We are dedicated in paving the way for alternative governance -- participated in by women and men of integrity and representing the basic sectors of society -- that will be transparent and moral, that will uphold the interests of our people, of women and our families.

From our homes, schools, workplaces and communities, we add our collective voices to ringing clamor for the removal of Gloria Macapagal Arroyo from office.

We forge our unity against a woman president who has become a hindrance to the economic and political empowerment of Filipino women and our families.
