On February 4, 2007 I was attacked at my workplace by a client. The workplace was a treatment facility center. The client choked me, threw me to the ground, and threw numerous punches. I suffered a fractured nose and other injuries. The client stated numerous times he was going to kill me and I believe he was, if not stopped by other clients as I asked for help.
I called the police and had the client arrested for assault. The police charged him with felony assault. I also went to the the jail and pressed other charges to keep him from returning.
The next few days I went to the doctors appointments and physical therapy and missed one day of work. But, no one in management ever approached me to ask me what happened or to see how I feel. The manager never spoke to me about the incident.
I went to court a week later and he stated what he did and had no remorse. They asked if we were taking him back. I of course told his probation officer "no." I also told his therapist I did not want him back and other management I did not want him back. Well, during court he pled guilty to the felony and I thought it was over.
But, nope a week after that he is back at the facility. By now it didn't matter what I said. It was a matter of money talks. By doing this it put me in a hard spot mentally. I think they call this hostile work enviroment. My first day back with him was alone with a new guy that couldn't touch nobody. Like we can anyway as you we see in a minute.
They said they would have a plan in place for his return but, never happened like nothing ever happened in the first place. They said greet him with open arms.
Then, taking the harassment from an employee about bein beat up. Being called names on a daily basis. What can you do? I reported it. Nothing happened. I told them I could take it further then this happened.
On March 15 I broke up two clients fighting. One client shoved me so I tried to get a hold of him. Lord knows I was by myself with no help. The client pushed me again this time to the ground. As I was getting up the client attempted to come after me but, was stopped by clients. So, I attempted to lead him to an area by himself and he was non-compliant. So, I held him against the desk until help arrived.
Once help arrived he was put by himself and the police were called.
About three days later I received a call saying I was suspended because he stated I choked him. This lasted over a week before they made me quit. The manager never questioned me or was there for the end. I requested numerous polygraphs throughout this but, was denied. Also, his allegation and reports states I did not choke him. So, how does any of this make sense?

Denying worker rights and denying due process
Companies should care about their employees during incidents and less about the money of one client. They said they care about the community, then where do they care about the employee?
They violated my civil rights by putting myself in a hostile work enviroment and also letting myself go through the harrassment. The manager failed to act on my behalf. There was no due process but, threats of termination if I took it further.
I ask you to write this company and voice your opinion on this matter. I even ask you to call them to express your feelings of unjustice. Sign the petition with care to show this company the working people stand together and will not be walked over and forgotten. All avenues are open including newspaper because I feel I'm not the only one who has been unjustly let go forcibly.
