It has taken me many years to overcome the sexual abuse from my father. And still, i don't think I'm completely over it. Now I am 18, graduated from high school, and attending college to become a teacher. And i did it all without the help of my father. That is a huge step for me. I am grateful that I am moving on.

Children are the highest in the kingdom of God. If we cannot humble ourselves to be as a child (innocent) there is no place for us in heaven

make the punishments and enforce them so they will think twice before committing the crime. Make it easier for the victims to tell. I will stand up for me and all those who have been hurt.

When I first got counseling after been raped 5 years ago I was told about the "cycle". It wasn't until this year that I realized what an effect the events of my past have had on the next generation of my family. My nieces and nephews are still living in the cycle and I have been powerless for the past 10 years to help them. I hope this event will bring more people forward and help future generations to learn that hiding family history is not a solution...you need to acknowledge the past in order to learn and grow. Coming forward about abuse and incest in my family has been the most difficult thing I have ever done but it has also been the most rewarding.

Tougher laws for sex offenders are needed they should have life in prison w/o the possibility of parole.

What we really can't ignore are the children right this minute being left to abusive parents because state officals can't do thier jobs til something horrible happens to a child.

Children are not just our future, they are our responsibility. Without adults they have no voice, or at least not one that makes any sort of impact on their own behalf.

As an adult survivor, it is my responsiblity to ensure that a crime as replusive as this never again happens to the innocent, weak, confused and used. Our children really are our country's Greatest Natural Resource... we MUST protect them at all cost. Our future and their survival depends on it.

Sign the petition... let your voice speak for those who can't.

I am proud to be signing this petition in order to help as many children and adult survivors of childhood abuse. I am a survivor of physical and sexual abuse. I suffer from PTSD and it has affected every part of my life. i wish with all my heart that every child could be free of having to endure what I did. I believe this is a wonderful cause. thank you.

No, we cannot afford to let our children suffer. They are innocent, precious souls and will one day be our future.

Our law makers have had more than one chance to put children lives before abusers, Now is the time to tell them protect children, Because if they refuse they are NO different from our abuses, Make this plane to them, Use this argument if as a law maker you refuse to do all you can to protect children, Your actions are telling survivors it is ok to abuse children and they should have been abused
