Research Loro Parque

When a Wild Born Orca named Morgan was transferred from
Dolfinarium Harderwijk in the Netherlands to Loro Parque
in the Canary Islands in 2011 it was under the terms of the transfer ( specifically
Article 8(3)(g)of Council Regulation (EC) 338/97) against commercial trade and exploitation of EU Annex A (wild-born) specimens.
The terms of her transfer are controlled by CITES and EU Wildlife Trade
Regulations and only lists two (2) purposes: “research” or
“education” aimed at the preservation or conservation of the species.

But it was very clear that the exploitation of EU Annex A (wild-born) specimens, such as Morgan were violated.Morgan participate in shows therefor there is commercial explotation
Also it seems that Dr. Javier Almunia, of Loro Parque Fundación chooses to ignore the EG-Certificate issued by the Dutch MA
The Dutch MA clearly does not authorize breeding Morgan or
subjecting her to mating situations or opportunities that will result in a pregnancy.
But Morgan the Wild Born is held in a tank with captive
male killer whales owned by
SeaWorld.

And again Loro Parque violates the CITES permit therefor we demand immediate investigation and action against this commercial use and breeding of the Wild Born Orca Morgan
An ultra-sound done on Morgan, these test, done by the captivity industry, is not only for 'health' checks but for also for authorize breeding/pregnancy
