Sergeant Eric Allen found posters on the wall of inmate Susie Chavez’s cell and proceeded to torture her without mercy - and it was caught on video via body cam!
As Chavez begged him to stop, he tasered her as further punishment. When she cried from the pain - he maced her! When she tried to tell the officer he was using excessive force, Sgt. Eric Allen told her, “Now you’re getting into stuff where we’re going to hurt you over. You need to be quiet.”
Allen has been fired for being abusive in the past but was rehired! And what has been his punishment for his latest cruelty? A paid suspension; meaning he has been on a paid vacation for more than 8 MONTHS!
Sergeant Eric Allen has a history of abusive behavior. What he did to Susie Chavez is horrific and should never happen again! Please ask the Metropolitan Detention Center in Bernalillo, County, New Mexico to do the right thing and fire Allen!

We (the undersigned) are outraged and saddened to know that a prisoner, Susie Chavez, was so brutally tortured, mocked and injured by an employee who has a history of abusive behavior.
Why is Sergeant Eric Allen still on the payroll? His cruelty was caught on camera! There is no doubt that he has earned a termination, not a paid leave of absence that seems to be going on indefinitely.
Please do the right thing and remove Allen from his position. How can we expect prisoners to be rehabilitated if they are being treated so cruelly without consequences?
