Brevard County in Florida has an extremely high pet over- population and equally high kill rates. In Brevard over 10,000 animals are being euthanized annually . We plan on scheduling a meeting with the commissioner about wanting ALL
shelters in Brevard to go No-Kill. No-kill has been done and can be done. Let's do what is right for the animals who deserve the quality care and life they deserve. There is no excuse for putting animals down. Let's tell our county that we are fed up with the inexcusable killing of healthy and adoptable pets!
We need as much of the community to help us. There is power in numbers and we can achieve this goal if we all work together! Every single person counts and is extremely important, 1 signature is 1 step closer to achieving a fighting chance for these animals. Please pass this on to everyone and anyone you know that cares what happens to these animals, think of the lives you'll help! We plan on bringing this petition with us when we go to the meeting to show the community's support.
Just between the South and the North Animal Care and Adoption Centers in 1/1/06-12/31/06 a total of 15,821 cats and dogs were brought to the shelter. Out of the 15,821 cats and dogs, 10,013 were euthanized making it 63% destroyed!
