Ban Rodeos for Animal Cruelty

Animals are humiliated, tortured, maimed, and killed all in the name of public entertainment and sport. This is sickening and disgusting to think that humans are still engaging in such cruel, barbaric practices.
Rodeos should be banned outright! No question. The people who support them, and argue in the name of tradition are nothing but stupid ignorant hillbillies.

Modern rodeos are cruel and deadly for animals. Traditional ranch work has been perverted into a spectacle of animal abuse disguised as "western tradition." Today's rodeos bear little resemblance to ranch work where care was taken to not injure animals. Modern rodeos are nothing more than western-themed circuses with contestants wearing John Wayne costumes and racing against the clock in a cruel spectacle for cash prizes all to sell sugar water, alcohol, and automobiles to the fans. And it's the animals who pay the price, from being electrically prodded to make horses and bulls appear wild to the countless injuries animals suffer from contestants who only care about beating the clock and winning cash before moving on to the next rodeo in the next city.
Please speak up for the animals below and tell these companies that as long as they continue to support animal abuse you will not buy their products. They will listen if consumers are loud enough. Urge these companies to look at the videos from SHARK's investigations and remind them that no one should want to be aligned with this sort of pointless and appalling cruelty.

Rodeo promoters say that the animals are wild and rough, but without the use of spurs, tail-twisting, and bucking straps cinched tightly around their abdomen and groin, these frightened and often docile animals wouldn't even buck. They are terrorized into action when men shove electric prods into them, twist their necks, yank them by their tails or legs, slam them to the ground, or otherwise batter them. The fact that most of these innocent animals are eventually destined for the slaughterhouse in no way justifies compounding their agony along the way.
We, the undersigned, believe that rodeos should be banned in the United States. The animals suffer through pain, ending up eventually at the slaughterhouse once they're useless. And why are we subjecting them to this cruelty? Rodeos are not a sport, they are a gathering for animal abusers. BAN RODEOS IN THE US!
