Allow pet Rabbits in Queensland
Petition for de-sexed and vaccinated Rabbits to be allowed as pets in Queensland
In the state of Queensland, there is a law banning pet rabbits.
We the undersigned object to this law on the grounds that domestic pet rabbits are not a threat to Queensland's environment. We feel that de-sexed and vaccinated rabbits could be brought in from other states, and would then pose no threat to wildlife or crops.
We ask that the Queensland government consider giving Queensland pet-stores the right to import and sell rabbits, on the condition that each rabbit is de-sexed and vaccinated before it enters the state. We ask that the Queensland governtment give Queenslanders the legal right to purchase and care for these de-sexed and vaccinated rabbits exempt from fines, on the condition that each rabbit is registered with the council, much as cats can be.
We the undersigned feel that Queenslanders deserve the same rights as the majority of other Australians in other states enjoy.
Thank you for your consideration.
