Bring video footage to Football

we the undersigned wish to petition the Football League to allow Referees to view video footage of the game and make the decision based on the footage. We also suggest that they could introduce video referees and allow them to make decisions in seconds, similar to those in Rugby.
We the undersigned would like to ask you, for the sake of the 'beautiful game', to introduce video referees to games and allow the referee access to footage in order to make the correct decision. This would reduce the number of incorrect decisions and also the level of abuse towards referees. This is particularly relevent as in the past few days there have been two very poor decisions by referees: the sending off of John Terry against Manchester City on Saturday, 13 September 2008 and the first Reading FC goal against Watford FC where the ball crossed the line yards wide of the post and should have been a corner. We feel that using video footage these decisions would not have been made and the fair result would have occured. We thank-you for taking the time to read this petition.
