End the Dolphin Slaughter in Taiji, Japan

  • by: OHS Leadership Academy
  • recipient: Japanese Government, Taiji Fishermen, and the International Whaling Commission

Every year 23,000 dolphins are captured and sold into captivity, or slaughtered for their meat. This meat however, contains toxic levels of mercury, and poses a significant threat to the Japanese people. Therefore by becoming involved in this project, I have the opportunity to help dolphins, and also help people.

We the undersigned, request the creation of a ban on dolphin hunting; imposed by The International Whaling Commission, enforced by the Japanese government, and supported by the fishermen in Taiji. This will protect the Japanese waters, as well as the Japanese people. Thank you.
