To fix Scienceblogs broken registration system

With over 120 blogs and a worldwide audience of over two million monthly readers, ScienceBlogs is host to the largest, most dynamic conversation about science on the web.

That conversation is now severly impaired because of Scienceblogs' broken registration system. Some Blogs  need the registration system switched on (eg Pharyngula) in order to manage the horrendous pile of spam and troll-trash spilling over into the comments. However, many users have failed to register with the broken system, trying to use whatever registration option is given, and are in the impossibility to comment.

This thread discusses more in detail some of the problems encountered by users :

Many people who have been unfairly deprived of commenting have tried many things (email, phone, sacrifycing chickens...) to try and get Seed to repair their broken system but to no avail.

This is a call to action, Scienceblogs is the largest conversation about Science on the web and the users demand the fix!
