Share Petfinder.com with Ocean Dog Rescue

This petition was created on behalf of the non-profit organization, Ocean Dog Rescue (ODR) and their many dogs in need of adoption to Canada. ODR has used Petfinder.com as their primary resource to display their adoptable dogs in Taiwan for the past 2 years. This exposure on Petfinder.com gave these dogs in waiting a chance to be viewed by potential adopters in the Richmond, BC area. However, Petfinder.com has recently asked Ocean Dog Resuce to remove the listings of adoptable dogs currently waiting in Taiwan because they are not physically located in North America.
This is a sad and frustrating situation for Ocean Dog Rescue and their supporters as Petfinder.com is a great organization that we all very much appreciate and respect. ODR as well as their family of adopters in the Richmond, BC area have made many requests to Petfinder.com for these very needy dogs in Taiwan to just get a chance to be seen in order to get adopted into BC and live safely. If it wasn't for Petfinder.com having displayed these dogs in the past, most of ODR's adopters would never have even been aware of the group's existance. With that, ODR has always been very forthcoming with Petfinder.com and it's online viewers, having clearly stated that their rescue dogs are physically waiting in Taiwan until adoption. If an adopter wishes to adopt from a rescue physically located in BC, then they can and will do so. Ultimately the choice should be up to the adopter, but this choice cannot be made if Petfinder.com refuses to present the opportunity. By removing ODR's dogs off Petfinder.com's display, they will be less viewed and less likely to be adopted. And this unfortunate situation will create less room for ODR to take more dogs off the streets in Taiwan.
Though, having given all of this information to Petfinder.com, the response to all of us has been the same: That Petfinder.com is only for dogs physically in North America and that it would be unfair to adopters dog rescues in the Richmond, BC area. The point in this petition is to prove to Petfinder.com that the people/adopters of BC and the 13,500 shelters adoption groups displaying on Petfinder.com are willing to share the display board with Ocean Dog Rescue. Please sign to urge Petfinder.com to allow Ocean Dog Rescue's dogs in Taiwan to be displayed again because there should not be a boundary for rescue animals.

We the undersigned wish for Petfinder.com to allow Ocean Dog Rescue to post the bios of their adoptable dogs in Taiwan as they once did. We are asking for the opportunity to give these desperate dogs exposure so they can be adopted into a safe, loving home in the Richmond, BC area. And with our signatures, we hope to prove to Petfinder.com that their users (the viewers, adopters and the 13,500 rescue organizations that display) are satisfied with sharing the display board with Ocean Dog Rescue's adoptable dogs.
