This is a petition started in the hopes of having the film "Locked In" starring Ben Barnes released to DVD worldwide. There appears to be a lot of interest surrounding the film, therefore, we have decided to start this petition. Please read and sign it if you wish to see this happen. Thank you for your support.
We are a group of individuals and fans (of Ben Barnes) who support independent films and the industry as a whole. This petition is intended for the release of the film titled "Locked In" starring Ben Barnes, Eliza Dushku,Sarah Roemer ; directed by Suri Krishnamma (winner of 4 film festival awards; nominee of 3 BAFTA) and written by Ronnie Christensen. It was well received at both the European Film Market (EFM) and at its premiere during Boston Film Festival (BFF) in 2010. Since then, there has been much speculation as to when or if it would be released. Recently, we learned through film industry newspapers that it was sold to a distributor and would be released to DVD. However, we have not been able to acquire a definitive answer by anyone.
As of April 2011, through online research, we were able to determine that approximately over 1,000 people are searching for further information regarding Locked In. Quite impressive given it was made over a year ago. This number does not include the countless number of fans worldwide (i.e. the US, UK, Brazil, Russia, Ukraine, Czech Republic, Poland, Philippines, Japan, etc.) who wish to see this film. As avid filmgoers, we find it unfair and incredibility disheartening that they would not release it to the general public. It doesn't make sense that the industry would initially "back" a film (have it made) only for it to never to see the light of day. Films are meant to entertain and provide a form of escapism to everyday life. It is important that we continue to support films such as this and others to provide feedback to those in charge.
