Put Kicker John Smith into the Patriots Hall of Fame!
We the fans of the New England Patriots have signed below in support of electing Kicker John Smith to the New England Patriots Hall of Fame.
A career Patriot, Smith was the backbone of the Patriot's special teams unit from 1974-1983. Sometimes Kickers contributions are overlooked in the history of a franchise, but Smith's legacy was carved in stone with his famous kick in the snow, during the now famous "snowplow game".
Over the next four years many Patriots from the Dynasty era will begin eligibility for their induction into the Hall, and a true Patriot like Smith will become lost in the fold as Bruschi, Brown, Harrison and others start to take their place in the Hall at Patriot Place. The Pro Football Hall of Fame often overlooks Kickers, do not let the Patriots Hall of Fame become the same way. A message must be sent that every player who has sacrificed, lived, breathed and loved the game of football deserves to be recognized, electing John Smith to the Patriots Hall of Fame is that message.
