Justice for Baby P!

Baby P was 17 months old when he was beaten to death by his mother, her boyfriend and their lodger. He had already suffered months of torture at their hands, being treated worse than an animal.

After his death in August last year, the toddler was found to have eight fractured ribs and a broken back that left him a paraplegic. It is thought the back injury was caused when he was swung against his cot.

His fingernails and tips of fingers had been torn off, some deliberately, and he had been hit so hard in the face, probably on the night he died, that one of his teeth was found in his stomach.

The baby had been taken to the hospital or his doctor over a dozen times with multiple bruising and swelling to his face, blood coming from his ears and infected fingernails. He was admitted to hospital or examined by doctors over a dozen times with various different injuries. Many of them were inflicted while he was on the %u2018at risk%u2019 register with Haringey Social Services in north London.

During one examination, shortly before he died in August last year, a doctor failed to find he had a broken back and was a paraplegic. She said she could not examine him as he was %u201Ccranky%u201D.

This should not be happening in our world today. What sort of society do we live in, where this can happen, and the perpetrator get only 7-14 years in jail. Where is the justice for Baby P in this? He was robbed of 70 years of his life, of his future. He deserves justice.

We are demanding immediate independant public enquiries to investigate the following:

- Review of the Social Services procedures
- Demand a GMC Hearing for Dr Sabah Al Zayyat
- Review of custodial sentencing for child abuse
and murder cases
- Review of the case, findings and recommendations of
Victoria Climbie enquiry.
-Harsher sentences for the torturors of Baby P

We, the undersigned, petition the Government to conduct the aforementioned enquiries, and to ensure these failures are never allowed to happen again.

Please sign in memory of Baby P, Victoria Climbie and abused and murdered children.

These children are the future.
They matter.
Don't let them be forgotten.
