KEEP GRAND ISLAND GOLF COURSE!

  • by: John Plourde

Lee County, GA Board of Commissioners are considering selling the Grand Island Golf Course for commericial development.  We do not support the Board of Commissioners for the following reasons:

The Grand Island Golf Course was DONATED to Lee County in 2002 to benefit the residents of Lee County.  It is an asset to the community.

The Grand Island Golf Course has a positive affect on the environment.  The design of the course provides proper water drainage and recovery, protecting our vital water supply.

The Golf Course hosts tournaments and fundraisers, supports local businesses, and allows the Lee County High School golf and tennis teams to use the club facilities.

The Grand Island Golf Course enhances home property values for the golf course community and surrounding areas, significantly increasing taxable income for Lee County.

The Golf Course and Lee County have no frontage property on Ledo Road.  That property is owned by a private resident.

We are asking that you sign this petition in your support of Grand Island Golf Course remaining an open public course for the good of all residents in Lee County and surrounding areas.
