No Health care for Illegal Aliens

New York State Assemblyman Greg Ball, a candidate for Congress in New York's 19th district, says "NO!" to taxpayer-funded health care for illegal aliens.

According to noted immigration author Michelle Malkin, Obamacare seeks to to ration health care for everyone in America - except those who break our immigration laws.

In July of 2009, the United States House of Representatives Ways and Means Committee defeated the Dean Heller amendment to HR 3200 which would have prevented illegal aliens from using the so-called public health insurance option.

The measure would have enforced income, eligibility, and immigration verification screening on all Obamacare patients. Malkin wrote, "Unlike most everything else stuffed into the House Democrats' plan, the citizenship vetting process would not have required building a new bureaucracy, and instead would have used existing state and federal databases created years ago to root out entitlement fraud."

Malkin continued, "If the congressional majority were truly committed to President Obama's quest to wring cost savings from the system, why won't they adopt the same anti-fraud checks imposed on other government health and welfare beneficiaries?"

This petition is to sound the alarm that already, American taxpayers are spending 2.5 trillion dollars a year on an inefficient healthcare system marked by fraud, waste, and abuse, and unsustainable cost growth. In order to fix our broken system, comprehensive healthcare reform must be part of an American solution, and forcing American families to pay for illegal alien healthcare, like Congress is asking us to under this plan, is patently un-American.

Figures from the non-partisan Congressional Budget Office show that 5.6 million illegal aliens will receive health coverage under Obamacare,

Already, American taxpayers are spending 2.5 trillion dollars a year on an inefficient healthcare system marked by fraud, waste, and abuse, and unsustainable cost growth, and our economy is already being crushed under the weight of billion dollar corporate bailouts and spending packages from Washington. The last thing working families can afford is to begin footing the bill for health benefits for illegal aliens.

The CBO projects that in 2019, 8.5 million of the 14.1 million illegal aliens not already on Medicare in the United States will not have health insurance, and up to 5.6 million would receive taxpayer-funded coverage under Obamacare. The CBO also projects the House plan would add over a trillion dollars to the national debt through record deficit spending in that same period.

The house proposals fail to verify the immigration status of those who receive health benefits, and that is no solution. It in fact creates more problems. In order to fix our broken system, comprehensive healthcare reform must be part of an American solution, and forcing American families to pay for illegal alien healthcare, like our congressional delegation is asking us to under this plan, is patently un-American.

We respectfully request that any comprehensive healthcare reform package include the measures to exclude illegal aliens from national house coverage by using existing databases created years ago to root out entitlement fraud
