SAVE CAMP MAMIE FLYNN
Camp Mamie Flynn Girl Scout camp is located in Logan, WV. The camp is owned by Black Diamond Girl Scout Council. Camp Mamie Flynn was donated to the girl scouts in 1930 and has been open and running for eighty one years. Black Diamond Girl Scout Council informed troops that as of August 1,2011 the camp will be closed and sold to help other camps in WV. Girl scouts in Logan County and surrounding areas depend on Camp Mamie Flynn to have weekly meetings, activities and camp. Girl scouts will have to travel over two hours to get to the nearst camp, Theres a concern that the future of girl scouts in our area will suffer dier consequences if they do not have this camp. Please help us to show Black Diamond Council that it will be a mistake to take away our beloved Camp Mamie Flynn!!!!
Girl Scouting and Girl Scout Camps exist for one reason: to build girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place. Girl Scout Camp is a great place for a girl to unlock her potential with the support and guidance of our caring staff. Girls will grow by leading her peers, voicing her opinion, and learning to make good choices.
Age-appropriate activities allow campers to discover their strengths and ideals; connect with other girls and caring adults; and take action by doing their part for a common good. The girl-led, cooperative experiences of Girl Scout Camp create the perfect setting for developing leaders.
