Stop Cyrus From Being Returned To His Abusive Owner

On July 31, 2007, Paul Soderholm left his Rottweiler, Cyrus, locked in his SUV in extreme heat conditions. If it were not for the quick action of Toronto Humane Society officer, Tre Smith, the dog would have died. When officer Tre Smith first saw the suffering Rottweiler he was foaming at the mouth and laying still with the "death stare." Officer Smith immediately broke the window, removed Cyrus from the SUV and, with the help of bystanders, began rehydrating and cooling down Cyrus. Tre Smith's rescue efforts saved Cyrus' life.  At first there was fear that Cyrus would suffer permanent brain damage but the brave little guy seems to be making a full recovery.  Now, Paul Soderholm wants Cyrus back. Please sign this petition to let the Animal Care Review Board know that you cannot support Cyrus being returned to his abuser.
We, the undersigned, urge you to rule against Paul Soderholm and deny him custody of Cyrus, the dog he left locked helpless in his vehicle in extreme heat conditions on July 31, 2007. Cyrus could have suffered from permanent brain and kidney damage as a direct result of Mr. Soderholm's negligent and abusive actions. Thankfully, Cyrus appears to be making a full recovery.  It is our sincere hope that Paul Soderholm is convicted of cruelty to an animal and sentenced to the full extent of the law.  Thank you for taking the time to read and consider our position.
