Save Penn State's Mifflin Streak!
Every year, Penn State students gather before spring finals week in a harmless game of Let's Run Naked. The streak takes place at midnight, on a little-used street on Penn State's campus, amidst a crowd of cheering (clothed) students.
Every year, Penn State arrests and charges the streakers it catches, with fines exceeding $1000 and a year of probation. Last year, I fought those charges, and I won. The judge ruled that everyone gathered for the event was there to see it, and the charges were inappropriate to the event.
This is a great tradition shared by universities across the nation, a time to blow off a bit of steam, especially for graduating seniors who are entering one of the most tumultuous job markets in history.
This petition is NOT about streaking in general. Streaking is absolutely in no way socially acceptable, except for those rare occasions (like this one), where nudity can be a beautiful thing.
Penn State, we love you. Let us love our bodies. Let this night be the exuberant celebration of a semester well finished. WE ARE - PENN STATE!

We, the undersigned, support the tradition of the Mifflin Streak. It should be allowed to proceed without police or university interference. With last summer's media attention, this event could produce a huge turnout this year. The university must make its policy clear to protect both itself and its students. Thank you for your time.
