Save the Louisiana Wetlands

As concerned citizens of this great country, we realise the fragility of the wetlands and marshes of Louisiana and their current rate of destruction at one football field every 30-45 minutes. Please support the urgent monies needed to restore the delta and marshlands requested by S. 3391, The Restoring Ecosystem Sustainability and Protection on the Delta Act presented by Senator Mary Landrieu D-LA. It is unfair in the wake of Hurricane Katrina and all that Louisiana has endured , to withhold the money due to  this state given the urgent needs it faces at this time. Louisiana is owed offshore oil royalty payments due to be paid at less than the other states (which receive 50%, LA will get 37.5%), and has to wait until 2017.  The other states receive their royalties now. The monies are urgently needed to begin the coastal restoration projects for the protection of Louisiana. The monies are also needed to help the peoples of the delta with small business loans in the wake of this eco-disaster and the loss of the fishing industry. Please support governor Jindal's urgent request for the Army Corps to fortify the barrier islands to block the oil from entering. Please support the people of Louisiana who have been in harms way due to bearing the brunt of producing 30-40% of domestic oil in the united States and have endured yet another disaster. Now Louisiana is under threat of losing its very magical culture and way of life.
