Say NO to Charity and University Survey email messages

  • by: Samuel J. Scerri
  • recipient: To stop Charities and Universities from spamming our email inbox
Currently under the Spam Act 2003, Universities conducting studies and surveys and all charities are exempt from the sending of unsolicited electronic messages. This petition, while in the interests of raising awareness and reducing frustration, is a product intended for a Year 12 Legal Studies inquiry task.

Often, charity and university electronic messages can serve just as much frustration and annoyance as regular unsolicited spam messages (which are caught under the Act). Especially charity emails, which target the recipients heart in the interests of receiving funds.

It is understood that organisations which achieve great feats are behind these emails, however, there are other less intrusive and disrupting ways of obtaining information, whether it be survey information for universities or the request money for charities.
