URGENT! Act Now to Save Feral Cats

Attention cat lovers. This is urgent...

Local cat rescue group Four Legs Good has spent years successfully spaying, neutering, vaccinating & monitoring a feral colony in West Haverstraw NY.

They recently learned that a few residents who live near the colony have complained to the town, and these healthy animals are now scheduled to be trapped and killed by heart stick. They will die at the hands of the person weilding the painful lethal injection to the heart. (Often, heart-sticks administered through animal control are delivered in a less-than-skilled manner, resulting in multiple stabs to the chest. It is cruel and inhumane.)

Within the next week or so, village employees are going to start trapping and killing feral cats on Overlook Dr. and Hillside Dr. in the neighborhood above Blockbuster/Taco Bell on Route 9W in the Village of West Haverstraw.

Please contact the town of West Haverstraw, letting them know you oppose this deathly plan.

Call, fax or email the mayor and the village trustees. Please be respectful, but tell them you oppose this unnecessary and inhumane method of euthanization!
Tell them there is a better way to manage feral cats. Tell them local organizations and volunteers will help them.

If you are a West Haverstraw resident or if you know any animal friendly people in West Haverstraw, call them. You are the only voice these animals have!

Village phone: 845-947-2800; Village fax: 845-947-1560; email: info@westhaverstraw.org

Please share and cross-post far and wide. Thank you. Sharon
