Stop tasering of people especially emotional disturbed ones. Dainell was only 29 and killed in the Maryhaven Center of Hope in Middle Island, NY on July 24, 2013.

I would like to inform you that an autistic man named Dainell Simmons was killed by Suffolk police yesterday July 24, 2013 at a group home, Maryhaven Center of Hope in Middle Island, NY.  He was tasered twice and pepper sprayed and died at the hospital shortly after.  Please pass this information on. This deceased, at the hands of police, disabled man needs a voice. Thank you.

Dear American Citizens,

This petiton is to tell our law makers that tasers need to be outlawed especially when dealing with EDP or other health compromised individual including children, elderly, or disabled.  Actually since no one can tell, tasers are a big risk to even seemingly healthy individuals. We can't tell who has a heart condition or seizure disorder. None of these individuals come with a doctor's note.

PLEASE SHARE. That's the only way to get signatures. This could be any of us or our kids.

Thank you.

We need to outlaw the use of tasers on individuals because many have died as a result. It could be anyone's child and infact it was someone's child who died as a result of misuse of taser. Thank you for your support. Dainell Simmons RIP.

Here is his story:

MIDDLE ISLAND - Authorities say a resident of a group home is dead tonight after a violent struggle with police.

Police were called to Maryhaven Center of Hope on Wednesday night after Dainell Simmons, 29, had a violent outburst that lasted for 45 minutes. Staff members say Simmons banged into walls and hit staff members.

Officers were able to calm Simmons down for a minute, but upon hearing he was headed to the hospital for an evaluation, police say he became violent again.

Investigators say Simmons died after being Tasered and pepper-sprayed by officers. Detectives say the Tasers are being analyzed to confirm the number of times they were used in the confrontation.
