Missy, nicknamed the Moose Llama, is a horse owned by Liz Hill Hieber. Liz bought Missy for $500 from Facebook Marketplace as a thrown away Amish horse. She has been said to look like she's made from multiple different parts of different horses which gives her the look of a Moose and a Llama! Missy's breed is unknown, but her DNA has revealed potential connections to the Dutch Harness Horse, Standardbred, and Saddlebred breeds. She is quite famous with Liz having a following of over 40k on Facebook and over 127.1k on Tiktok.
When Liz bought Missy, she was not in the best of conditions and Liz and her team have put lots of time and effort into helping and caring for Missy and making her life the best possible. Missy's fans adore her and love watching her figure out jumping and love seeing Missy happy and enjoying herself. She is also such a kind horse and puts her all into everything. She has such good scope for jumping and has fallen in love with it so Liz and her friend, Lauren, practice jumping with her on weekends because they know she enjoys it! They have also entered her into a low level dressage competition to see how she does which is exciting! They have been working on her relaxing when in work and teaching her that she can canter instead of only trotting how she was taught to when in a cart. Liz and Lauren also now have a 'Squeal Cam' where they can catch Missy's squeals of excitement, usually when she's jumping and feeling good about herself! I personally just adore her and she's such a character and it's so lovely to see her figuring out life in a brand new light.
Missy has come a very long way from when Liz bought her and is in much better condition and spirits. This horse is definitely deserving of being made into a Breyer Horse because it also highlights good horsemanship, but also the welfare issues surrounding horses being sold off. This is an amazing success story and more people should know about it. And as for the sales of Missy as a Breyer Horse, there would be plenty!
