Fire Cop Who Threatened Black Teen's Life While Off-Duty

In a disturbing new viral video, a white off-duty officer in Lansing, Ill., can be seen pinning a black teen to the ground on his front lawn while threatening to kill him. The unnamed officer repeatedly accuses the 15-year-old, Jordan Brunson, of trespassing on his property, while the teen struggles to get out of his grip and explain the situation.

Regardless of the officer’s belief, the behavior seen in the video is completely unacceptable for an officer. He clearly uses excessive force to detain the young teen and repeatedly threatens to kill him.

Please sign this petition demanding that the Lansing Police Department fire the officer for this abuse of power immediately.

According to Brunson, he and his friend who recorded the incident were jumped while leaving a basketball game earlier. After parting ways while fleeing from their attackers, Brunson heard his friend call for help and found the friend hiding in a bush on the officer’s property. That's when the officer found Brunson and pinned him to the ground, accusing him of trespassing. It is worth noting that the officer does not use excessive force or threaten to kill the white friend who was also on the officer's property.

We cannot let police brutality continue. Please join in demanding that the Lansing Police Department fire the officer for bullying and threatening Jordan Brunson immediately.
