ALLOW THE SALE OF BEER AND WINE AT ANA'S EMPANADAS, KILLINGTON

  • by: Rob DiTursi
  • recipient: The State of Vermont, Department of Liquor Control

For 5 years, Ana’s Empanadas has been a destination for the many skiers and snowboarders at Killington Resort.  The owners, Ana and Rob DiTursi are always available and have consistently strived for the best quality food and service while supporting local agriculture with their use of locally raised ingredients.

For 5 years, we the patrons of Ana’s Empanadas have made repeated requests to both the DiTursis and Killington Resort to have Beer and Wine at this venerable slope-side eatery.  The additions of Beer and Wine to Ana’s delicious empanadas will not only enhance the public’s enjoyment of this unique and locally produced product but it will also stimulate the local economy and help strengthen this growing family-owned business.

It is our belief that the convolutions of governmental bureaucracy have made licensure a costly and unnecessarily time consuming affair for the DiTursis, inflicting upon them unnecessary financial burdens. The lack of action and communication from the involved State agencies has needlessly hobbled the development of one of Vermont’s rising small businesses.

We, the loyal, law-abiding and responsible patrons of Ana’s Empanadas, do hereby implore and demand that the Department of Liquor Control of the State of Vermont grant full licensure to Ana’s Empanadas, Inc. for the sale and on-premise consumption of Beer and Wine for the remainder of the 2014 season.  Recognizing that the 2014 ski season is nearing an end, we further demand that licensure be approved for the forthcoming season ending April 2015.
