We demand an end to the Square Kilometer Array Telescope in South Africa

The Astronomy Geographical Act 21 of 2007 went ahead without any of the concerned and affected persons knowing about it. This is a violation of our Constitution Sect 25 where large tracts of farmland in the Central Karoo were simply expropriated by the South African Government. This area is now being denuded of vegetation and the threat that water will be turned off for small game is very real.
To date there has been very poor communication in which way this project is heading and is threatening the future of more than 50,000 persons in the area. worse still is that we are deceived and lied to on an ongoing basis.
