Tax Cuts For the Rich Have Increased the Federal Deficit by A LOT

It was recently announced that for fiscal year 2018, the federal deficit grew to $779 billion, the highest it has been in years.

Tell Republicans to fairly tax the wealthy, not cut important social services we all deserve.

Republicans like Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell have come out to claim that this rising debt is the result of Democrats who refuse to work on bipartisan legislation that would see key benefit program like Medicaid, Medicare and Social Security slashed. McConnell wants us to think that Democrat spending is sinking the country in debt, but we know better.

The truth is that the deficit is blowing up thanks not only to President Trump's Congress-backed tax reforms — which swiftly took billions of dollars of taxpayer funds and put it into the hands of the country's wealthiest — but to the same group's extension of Bush-era tax cuts on top of increased military spending.

Ahead of these November elections, let's tell the conservatives on the Hill that the American people refuse to be told to believe such audacious lies while at the same time being told that billionaires deserve tax breaks at the cost of our health and the ability to retire with dignity!
