Kathmandu valley is going through rapid unplanned urbanization. Government has planned to cut trees along the 8.2 km kalanki -Balaju-Maharagunj road section. estimated 2057 trees are being chopped off. Some environmental activist, youth organization , local people clubs have formed an alliance to raise voice against the environment impacts. the alliances advocating to stop chopping off the trees and for cycle lanes ,walk-able footpath and promoting sustainable movement.
what kind of development are we expecting? It's time to raise our voice.
No IEE/ EIA, no public consultation, design of 8 lane ring-road has been public. Why hurrying to cut the trees?
