Keep Teresa Delfin at Whittier College

  • by: Sally S
  • recipient: Whittier College Administration

Teresa Delfin has had an incredibly positive effect on the Whittier College community through teaching, hosting study abroad, doing important research, being an advisor, helping make positive change on campus, and being a friend to many students, professors, faculty, and others on campus.
Through a decision made not consulting the anthropology department at Whittier College, the school admin has decided to eliminate her professor position with no reasonable cause or reason. Understandably, the students, faculty, anthropology department, and school as a whole are very upset.
I personally have been her research assistant and student worker. I have personally gone through her student evaluations, spoken to students, other faculty, parents, and others who have had contact with her and have only heard overwhelmingly positive responses.
The administration is in no position to eliminate the position of a professor in an already struggling department whom has done nothing but help the school as a whole.

I ask you to sign this position not only for your benefit, but for the benefit of everyone who Teresa Delfin has positively helped over her many years of service for the Whittier College community. Thank you.
