Demand the officers who shot an unarmed, pregnant Black woman five times be fired!

26-year-old Leonna Hale was unarmed and pregnant when she was shot multiple times by officers in Kansas City, Missouri. With her hands up in a Family Dollar store parking lot, a witness said Hale was trying to run away from officers when they shot her.

Pregnant Leonna Hale was not a threat to police. She immediately told officers she could not get on the ground as they asked due to her pregnancy, and was completely upfront with the officer about the handgun in the vehicle where a man had just fled from. After just three steps running away from the officers after they approached her with their guns drawn, they shot Hale five times. Some officers are disputing both Hale's pregnancy and whether or not she was armed.

Community members have referred to it as a "horrific, attempted execution." While the police narrative is that they were trying to arrest the two in connection with a carjacking, witnesses say that just doesn't make sense from what they saw. They saw officers shoot a pregnant woman, who had not resisted at all, a shocking 5 times. Then, the officers proceeded to place her in handcuffs instead of seeking out any medical attention it's a miracle she didn't bleed to death.

Officers in Kansas City were perfectly comfortable killing a pregnant Black woman with zero attempts at a non-violent arrest. It's criminal.
