We understand the Woodsboro Firehall siren has been a thing for a long, long time but unfortunately it is not needed any longer. The firefighter and EMT staff are well aware and on their way to the emergencies before the siren even goes off. In the past it was used to alert the staff. Some residents say it helps alert the town about the emergencies but that is what the truck lights and sounds from the trucks are for. On top of that, a lot of the staff within the firehall are having hearing issues due to the volume of the siren as well as several local residents and pets. We love our small town of Woodsboro but I think this is one step we can make to jump into the modern times and out of the past.
