A Petition for the Rights of Patients and Caregivers in Rhode Island

Per Rhode Island Law Medical Marijuana patients and their caregivers are allowed to grow Cannabis for medical purposes.
These rights are being threatened!
The Edward O. Hawkins and Thomas C. Slater Medical Marijuana Act gives medical cannabis patients the right to produce their own medication.
Patients may also designate up to two caregivers that may grow cannabis for their legally designated patients.

Politicians have been discussing eliminating these rights in favor of compassionate care centers that will provide cannabis to legally registered patients.

While We the undersigned look forward to the additional resources that the care centers will provide We also recognize the need for patients and our caregivers to retain the right to produce our own medication.
Many patients are very satisfied with the services of compassionate and dedicated caregivers.
We have fought a long hard struggle to obtain the right to produce our own medical cannabis and We will continue to work to retain these rights.

Respectfully Yours
