I have recently viewed some horrific undercover videos, thanks to PETA and other incredible organizations willing to stand up to factory farming. However, I decided to share a video with inspiring Ellen DeGeneres telling her reasons for going Vegan. Please watch and join in the movement to go meatless.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O-4j6vSyDu0 Animals were not intended for human consumption. Murder is murder, and if we are going to set laws against people who kill people and domestic animals, why should it be any different for the murder of any animal?
Animal cruelty seems to be spiking, and why not? We talk out of both sides of our mouths - donating time and money to animal rescues, yet supporting a society of fast food chains, grocery stores, pet stores (ironic), restaurants, etc., who all support factory farming as they offer animal-based food...factory farms are animal cruelty breeding grounds. What are we teaching our youth if we keep up the hypocrisy?
If we all changed our minds and changed our diets to plant-based food, we could be on our way to saving animals from horrific conditions, ending world hunger, and setting the stage for a kinder world.
