Stop unfair 20% paycut to PCA's who take care of family members.POWER OF THE PEOPLE in action.

When the government shut down in Minnesota happened, one of the topics of conversation in that meeting (between mostly republicans with a few democrats sprinkled in!!) was regarding PCA's and their pay, the republicans wanted to cut all pay rates for PCA's by 1.5%, but then also a cut of 20% more for PCA's who are related to the clients, which Governor Dayton fought not to have happen, however, he ended up agreeing about in the end to end the state shut down. So on October 1st all of us parents, adoptive parent of an adult child, a sibling age 16 or older, an adult child, a grandparent or grandchild (this list is in a new 2011 Notice to Enrollees/Recipients, which I received from the Department of Human Services) will have our pay cut 1.5% plus another 20%. The state is discriminating against a select few who are taking and putting their lives on hold to take care of our loved ones who need a parent, grandparent, grandchild, etc. We have been trying to fight this by writing letters to our legislators, to our Governor, and others to try to get some relief, because we feel like the government is discriminating against us as family members. So please sign your name to this Petition and tell them this is not ok with you.  POWER OF THE PEOPLE.
