Abolish the Reserved List to Support the Integration of New Eternal Players

The Reserved List is a phony artifact from a time in Magic: the Gathering's early days that was created as a means to "protect" collectors that were upset because of reprints. This was 1996 and a time where the world of collecting and investing was much different than it is today. Magic: the Gathering has become a worldwide phenomenon where players from all walks of life can enjoy the game. Unfortunately, these same players can't enjoy the game as it was meant to be played by Richard Garfield - the creator of Magic. Instead, certain cards will "never be reprinted" as the fear of fallout from collectors that will act in response to the abolition of this antique has carried over time. Magic is a game, and it is a collectible card game.

The abolition of the Reserved List will provide the following positive outcomes to people worldwide: first, it will create a massive influx of newer players wishing they had the chance to play with powerful spells like we used to. Second, the barrier for entry into these formats will - in all likelihood - drop exponentially so people aren't dropping the mortgage on a new deck. Third, it will showcase these formats that have long been placed in the rear-view mirror, which is completely unfair to the people that have spent years driving to play in one or two events a year.

This is our time. Think with your hearts and sign the petition to tell Hasbro and Wizards of the Coast that you want to play these formats and use the cards you've only dreamed of having - but never could because of your economic status. This is your time to fight back and not be bullied into a corner as an Eternal player. Over 90% of all Magic cards fall into the Eternal catagory after rotation. These cards sink into the annals of time. This is your opportunity to voice your opinion that you WANT to play whatever you desire with reasonable financial investment. WOTC is restricting people with lower financial income to be able to play with the cards they dream of.

Make your voice heard and do the right thing as someone who loves the game as much as we: get Hasbro and Wizards to end the Reserved List...forever.

(As for PEL: there are common legally-required elements for a person to make a claim for promissory estoppel: a promisor, a promisee, and a detriment that the promisee has suffered. These collectors have to PROVE that abolition of the RL has caused financial loss to them. They have to actually show that abolition of the RL has caused, under Doctrine of Promissory Estoppel, that it was the result of their financial suffering.)
Make this happen so newer players have the chance to play with whatever they want, regardless of economic status.
