I am a passionate raised bed gardener in the Bronx; time in the garden is truly my heart's work, a peaceful centering hobby, that provides personal solace and opportunity for a close intimate relationship with the earth.
My garden beds offer a small, profound beauty in the arrray of vegetables herbs and flowers and have come to mean a great deal to all who visit, to my family and those in my community.
Throughout the season, I regularly photograph the growth of the garden beds from early spring to fall's end, from seed or plant start to bloom or harvest, and share the pictures with many in my immediate community, fellow New Yorkers and others across the country. Even some people from other parts of the world have viewed the photographs!
Many never knew that such glorious projects even existed in NYC!
The photographs are so beautiful and enchanting, always eliciting wonderful responses, bringing so much pleasure to all of us. The garden helps to demonstrate that busy New Yorkers take a break now to breath a moment of what we all share together.
But my gardening there and these many smiles and the sharing of such beauty may be at risk.
