The Fader Must Apologize For their Slanderous Article on Anthony Fantano

On October 3, 2017, a publication known as "The Fader" released an article titled, "The Needle Drop pioneered music review vlogs. His lesser-known channel pandered to the alt-right." This slanderous, pathetic attempt of journalism took aim at the popular YouTube music reviewer named Anthony Fantano. Despite Fantano himself making a video detailing the horrible inaccuracies of the article and explaining why they were so incredibly incorrect, the hit piece was able to damage Fantano's credibility, and his speaking tour had to be cancelled, as many venues became hesitant to host him.

The article in question is truly an unacceptable hit piece that lies to its readers about Fantano as a person. As a civilized society, we cannot allow this behavior to continue unpunished, as these actions weaponize slander and enable it to be used in a multitude of ways. What would stop a publication from releasing slander to silence competition? What would stop a business man to attack a rival company by using various false claims to encourage public backlash? Where does the slander stop?

I propose that the Fader publicly apologize for this article and re-compensate Fantano for the money he would have made on the tour.
