Care2 Update, 12/9/2022: Sadly, we have recently learned that after a life spent in forced captivity, Mambo the elephant has passed away. Yet, cruelly, the Reutlinger Weihnachtscircus in Germany is still using animals for its entertainment shows! This cannot be allowed to continue. Sign the petition demanding they end their live animal performances now!

Elephants are beautiful, majestic creatures. They are also disappearing from the face of the earth due to human action. That's why it's so horrifying to learn how many people are currently abusing them. This video from a circus in Germany, Reutlinger Weihnachtscircus, just surfaced showing elephants pulling humans in sleds. The only possible way to make this happen is through prolonged abuse to the elephants.

Please sign the petition to ask this circus to close down and send their elephants to a sanctuary where they can live happy and natural lives.

In the video, you can see the man leading the elephant is holding a rod. That rod has been used to harm and instill fear in the animal so that it will comply. Elephants do not naturally enjoy doing tricks for humans or pulling them around. In order to make them tame enough to do things like this, trainers use a method called "the crush" where they beat elephants into submission.

So while this video of people enjoying elephants may seen innocent on its face, it's actually extremely abusive and unfair to the elephants. Please sign on to help close this circus for good!
