Petition to change all Grey Rock MGA Events to Net Only Events and pay twice as many positions.

As the MGA has grown, the field of every event is weighted heavily towards players that cannot legitimately compete for the Gross prize pool. Regardless of this, each player is forced to contribute to this pool. $5 per week does not sound like much, but over the course of the season, the Gross players have a substantial advantage.

On an average Wednesday, there are approximately 80 players and less than 10 have a legitimate chance to compete for the Gross pool. Because of this the Gross players have an unfair advantage. For example, if there are 80 players, the prize pool is $400 Gross and $400 Net. All 80 players are competing for the $400 net pool, but only these 10 players are competing for the $400 Gross pool.

A conservative estimate would be that 85% of the players have no chance to compete for the Gross prize pool. Using this estimate the members of the Grey Rock MGA, that have no chance to compete for the Gross prize pool, contribute over $16,000 to the Gross players. This is counting all Wednesday Events and the 5 weekend events with a Gross prize pool. The Gross players DO have an equal chance to compete for the Net Pool.

PROPOSED FORMAT CHANGE
• All events will be Net Only.
• Entry fees for all events remains the same.
• Number of payouts for each event will double. For example, instead of 4 Gross and 4 Net payouts, the payout would be for the top 8 net players.
• Gross and Net points still accumulated for a Gross and Net shootout with same prize money.

The Gross Players will say they cannot compete for Net money. That is simply not accurate, that is the purpose of handicaps. With twice as many places paid, they will still win plenty of money. They just will not win almost every week like they do now.

We the undersigned are requesting the MGA Committee make this change effective January 1, 2019. If this represents a majority of the MGA membership, the committee must act on the petition. If the committee fails to act, the undersigned will nominate and vote for candidates that will implement this change.
