Over the recent years, the increment of hostel prices of some private hostels is very alarming. We woke up some few weeks ago to realize that the hostel fees for the 2020/2021 academic year for hostels off Campus, that is in Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) is out and to our outmost surprise, there has been huge increment in the Prices.
The problem is that, there isn't something remarkable to be done in the hostels. It is the same old buildings that we will go and sleep in, same facilities, there is no change so why do you have to charge us such exorbitant prices.
These Private Hostel managers should consider the average student in the institution.
HOW CAN YOU INCREASE THE PRICE OF A HOSTEL MORE THAN GH¢ 500 IN LESS THAN A YEAR?
We are tired with the hikes in the prices of hostels and cannot sit down and fold our arms to see us suffer.
WE DEMAND REDUCTION IN THE PRICES OF HOSTELS AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.
EVEN IF THERE WILL BE INCREMENT, IT SHOULDN'T EXCEED GH¢ 300.
