Support the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act!

Representatives Jerrold Nadler, Carolyn Maloney, Jackie Speier, Susan Davis and George Miller have introduced groundbreaking legislation that would ensure that pregnant women are not forced out of jobs unnecessarily or denied reasonable job modifications that would allow them to continue working.

Entitled the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act, the bill aims to fortify pregnant women's employment stability.

Though the needs introduced in the bill seem simplistic, such as the opportunity to carry a water bottle, sitting on a stool or temporarily being assigned to less strenuous physical duties, its proposed protections would be often the difference between unemployment and maternity leave.

Though more than half of mothers in the United States are denied paid maternity leave, this bill will help women gain the rights and respect in the workplace that they deserve.

Tell Congress: Support the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act!

We the undersigned urge you to support the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act, which aims to give pregnant women job security.

Though the seemingly menial demands of the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act may be small gestures of respect for women in the workplace, unfortunately, they are often denied to women.

Throughout the nation, women are forced into unpaid maternity leave and even terminated due to their need of consistent hydration, a stool to sit on or less strenuous duties for a short period of her pregnancy.

We ask you to please respect the needs of pregnant women in the United States and support the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act.

Thank you for taking our comments and concerns into serious consideration.
