Justice knows no gender and neither should liberty. By keeping the statue of liberty a women, it hearkens back to a time when women were objectified as just objects for men. Women should not be used as a symbol for anything! The statue of liberty is due for renovation, and we can make simple alterations to make it gender neutral and therefore more inclusive. POC characteristics could also be added to the facial features. That would make a true statue that immigrants can be proud of when coming to America!
