Don't Let Israel Forcibly Relocate Bedouin Village!

Israel is currently considering whether or not to follow through on plans to forcibly uproot dozens of Bedouin families from their homes in the West Bank village of Khan al-Ahmar. The IDF plans to relocate these people to a village located next to a garbage landfill nearby. The structures, including a school built with the help of foreign aid, will then be razed to the ground.

Why is Israel doing this? They say it is because the village violates zoning laws.

Tell the High Court of Justice that the world is watching and that we will not sit by and be silent as this shameful act is carried out by adding your name to this petition!

If that sounds like a flimsy justification for relocating a whole village against its will, you'd be right. In the past, when similar issues have arisen, Israeli courts have resolved the issue by retroactively legalizing a settlement's zoning. However, this is typically a privilege granted to Jewish settlements illegally established in the West Bank.

Right now, Israel's High Court of Justice has put a temporary halt on these plans while it considers whether to grant retroactive zoning permits.

What Israel proposes to do is nothing short of a major human rights violation and a war crime – per international law, relocating a population (especially one in an occupied territory) against their will is gravely illegal.
